In GeoIQ you can animate any dataset that has a "time" attribute. For example: http://geocommons.com/maps/33391

If you upload data that has a column name like "date" or "timestamp" then we automatically convert to time. You can also specify this in the upload process in choosing the attribute types (in Step 2).

Soon we'll be adding the ability to change existing datasets to convert them to time in order to animate them.
